Timing belts / pull down belts

Timing belts are often used on the vertical shape, filling and sealing machines. The belts ensure that sufficient grip is achieved during the transportation of the foil across the metal filling tube when packaging various food, for example chips, crisps, candy, greens and soap. Depending on the machine you use, the belts often have holes and grooves for vacuum transport.

The Timing belts are often manufactured with a finish layer of hard wearing Polyurethane, natural silicone; after vulcanisation of the finish layer they are carefully cut to the correct thickness. The choice of the correct finish layer depends on the packaging material you use (plastic, paper, foil) and your specific circumstances.

The rubber finish on the belts are also important for the correct functioning of your machine, the most used qualities are:

- Natural rubber NRC, colour red

has a lot of grip, good hard wearing (most used quality)

- Polyurethane PUG, colour yellow

has less grip, but improved hard wearing quality

- Silicone rubber SIB, colour blue

has the most grip, good hard wearing

Which belt do you use? In order to determine this, the following information is relevant:

Width – number of indentations – the space between the indentations – finish rubber colour – holes or no holes (for vacuum)

Which  belt do you use?

Type L = distance between indentations 3/8”

Deviating dimensions and/or rubber finish are available on request.

Type H = distance between indentations 1/2”

Type T10 = distance between indentations 10mm
